FBA: Assign New User to FBA Role

How can I automatically assign a new FBA user to an FBA role?  I see how the registration part is configured to assign to a SharePoint group, but I also want them to automatically go into an FBA Role.

This is necessary because my BDC permissions are assigned to an FBA "Visitors" role and I want any registered users to automatically be added into that role.

Also, is there a way to automatically approve users without human intervention?  I have all my users going into a Visitors role (just so they can set up alerts and stuff), so don't really need the human intervention aspect of it.
