When I submit a comment for the blog I am not given the CAPTCHA challenge.

yeah, that's quite a short question...
Please provide a little more details, which build or release do you use? Have you checked the cks:ebe settings? Read the manual? checked the theme.master? etc..

sorry about that , I just wanted to get it out there in case others were having the problem. I removed the latest beta by retracting and removing the solution. Installed the latest release from the web site.

I have checked the cks:ebe settings and captcha i turned on. I have tried unchecking and checking the setting. I read the manual and did not see anything regarding configuring captcha but I will double check.

Not sure what I should look for in the theme.master.

Tried created a new blog site but still not captacha. I hope you can help.

thanks, Jerry

OK sot CAPTCHA is part of the Wildlife and RoundedGreen Theme but not part of the other themes. Now the question is am I smart enough to add to the default theme.

I quickly figured this out - in case you haven't gotten it yet or someone else is looking for this:

I just opened the Wildlife theme.master - Simply copy the "PlaceHolderBlogComments" - should show "Error Rendering Control" in Sharepoint Designer.

Paste in the other master's same location. - This worked for me on the default them. - You can check out my site at: http://www.infocinch.com
I am using Heather's PixelMill site template on the rest of the site as well. Love her stuff - And SO glad she contributed to this project!!!!

Nice work on the EBE, team!! I love the integration wtih Live Writer!!!

I'm running the latest edition of CKS EBE 2.0 WSP on Windows Web Edition Server 2008 and IIS 7.0. I installed EBE in the main site i.e. http://blog.domain.com and the installation seemed to go smoothly.

I discovered that CAPTCHA only displayed on two themes, but it isn't displaying properly. No image of the Captcha Image Validation displays--only a little red X, like the images aren't there.

Anyone experience this before or know how this might be corrected?

Thanks,

John

Update: I was just playing around with the site and opened it up in SharePoint Designer and viewed a couple of the theme.master pages in the various themes. In those that had controls, every one had this message, and since it said 'error', I thought it might be relevant to the problem:

"Error Creating Control - EBE:listType 'CKS.EBE.WebControls.List' does not have a public property named 'Transform-XslName'."

The themes display correctly as far as I can tell, except for the CAPTCHA thing.

Thanks again,
John

John,

The image is displayed by an _layouts page. Can you use fiddler (www.fiddlertool.com) to see why it isn't displayed.

The error in SPD is fine. SPD doesn't like objects as properties of controls...Transform is a property of the List control and XslName is a property of the Transform object.

Thanks for your speedy reply Vince. I'll download fiddler and see what I can see.

John

OK, here's the info from fiddler. There is a DNS error because it seems that when trying to view the CAPTCHA image the domain name is omitted from the url. If I am reading this right, then can anyone shed any light on why this might be happening--or more importantly, how to fix it.

Thanks in advance.

It seems this issue is addressed here and a solution seems to be to change the code. Now the problem is that I searched the entire site using SharePoint Designer and can't find the code in this example. Where should I look for it?

Hello. Does any body here experienced intermittent EBE captcha images not displaying in the page? Sometimes it shows up, sometimes it don't.

We have installed the latest EBE (v 2.0) in our servers.

Did someone ever solve this intermittent issue?

I tried to follow the following articles to no avail.

http://cks.codeplex.com/WorkItem/View.aspx?WorkItemId=4149
http://www.codeplex.com/CKS/WorkItem/View.aspx?WorkItemId=4981
http://cks.codeplex.com/Thread/View.aspx?ThreadId=23454&FocusElement=ctl00_ctl00_MasterContent_Content_RadEditorNewPost&Command=NewPost

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am now running changeset 40714 and I can confirm this is fixed. The latest "production" release still has this crippling bug, however.
