CKS: Enhanced Blog edition questions

Topics: Enhanced Blog Edition

Hello all

I have a few questions relating to CKS: Enhanced Blog Edition

1) Should the "Create Post" screen (Posts - new Item) be themed?  Ours seems to use the standard Sharepoint theme - rather than the blog theme - is this right?
2) After posting a new post our system goes to another unthemed screen (a list of blog posts).  Is this right?  My preference would be redirect to the main blog screen (which is themed);
3) Is it possible to upload images rather than just linking to an image?

Many thanks

Hi all

These questions are holding us back from deploying an internal blog.  I'm under some pressure to use Wordpress Mu instead however I would rather use our investment in Sharepoint 2007.

Thanks in advance for your support

Greetings,

I just upgraded to the 2.0 final version but the CAPTCHA only shows up when someone clicks Contact.  When they post comments the CAPTCHA image/spam prevention isn't there.  I tried unchecking and re-checking support and that didn't work.  I also put in an Akismet key.

What am I missing?

Hi Daniel, hi IzKen

@Daniel
1) by default, no theming is applied on contribution & admin pages, so you can just use standard SharePoint theme, or also modify your default.master page.
2) This is the standard way of contribution on SharePoint lists. But you can bypass standard redirection by passing the GET parameter "Source" in the querystring like this : http://www.yourwebsite.com/Lists/Posts/Forms/NewPost.aspx?Source=http://www.yourwebsite.com  so you'll be redirected to the home page. So can you modified the AdminLinks.xsl file to have this by default on menu
3) Currently not, but have a look at the Telerik RAD editor for SharePoint : http://www.telerik.com/products/sharepoint/radeditor.aspx

@Izken
The CAPTCHA is not available on all themes. You have to add it if you need it. Look at the "Wildlife" master page, theme.master and control <EBE:CaptchaValidator .... />

You can use the "Blog Post" template for Word 2007 and it will automatically upload any pictures that you insert in the document.

Hi GatWeb

Well done on the work yourself and your follow colleague have done on the additions to MOSS blog. I think it brings great character to the website now.

I am like Daniel above and have a preference to redirect the Users after submitting a post back to the home page rather than the Sharepoint list.  In your answer above you say you can bypass the standard redirection by passing the GET parameter "Source" in the querystring like this : http://www.yourwebsite.com/Lists/Posts/Forms/NewPost.aspx? so you'll be redirected to the home page. So can you modified the AdminLinks.xsl file to have this by default on menu

I understand what you are doing, I just dont know where to implement the code in the AdminLinks.xsl

Could you kindly point me in the right direction.

Many thanks
Darren

I cant get the CAPTCHA to work either. Not in wildlife or any other theme. It just shows a textual label where the image should have shown up.
Are there any 3rd party components I need to install?
