SSL Issues

Is there any reason the User Management feature under site settings does not work under SSL?

The web parts seem to work fine, but I get no links for user management under site settings on my extended SSL fba site.

If I create a new web application (non-ssl) on the same server and extend as FBA ... everything works fine.

Would love to hear confirmation on this. We're all-SSLed as well and I do worry that some stuff on CodePlex wasn't necessarily checked for SSL support (not that Codeplex folks are to appears even MS hasn't fully figured out SSL with MOSS given our experiences with it).

It turned out my issue was with the user rights and not SSL. When setting up FBA, I set the FBA admin user I created as a secondary site collection owner and someone changed that. In order for the features in the site settings to work your user has to be a site collection admin.

I wasn't able to use the role management to work for some reason but I didn't need it so I never figured out the issue. I seem to remeber having that issue in a test VPN non-ssl so I don't think its SSL related.

The reset password, login and change password web parts all seemed to work just fine.

I wasn't able to setup my exteded site as an ssl site when extending. I had to create it then setup SSL on IIS ... then update the alternate access mappings to https no clue why.

Same thing here the Membership Request Webpart doesn't work under SSL.

OK, after fiddling around why this doesn't work, using SSL I reflected on all the steps taken.  After documenting all 37 steps (between IIS, ISA Server, and SharePoint Central Admin) it took to get CKS:FBA solution up and going what was missing.  Then it dawned on me, I had everthing working fine until I installed my SSL Cert and made an ISA Server Setting change to point to HTTPS... but I never went back in Aternate Access Mappings and pointed the URL from http://mycompany to https://mycompany. After I made this change, I undeployed the CKS:FBA solution. did an IISRESET /noforce, Deployed the CKS:FBA solution again and everything worked.  ; - )
