We have ECTS in a production environment only, our users have requested to change the password expiry from 30 to 90days. If we do this at the machine policy level, is there any negative impact on ECTS?

CKS FBA - Forms Based Authentication Beta 1.00 released
This solution is our first beta release that provides a Forms Based Authentication feature. Fresh install only, WSP will not upgrade an existing October 2007 release. Also, this is an authentication provider feature and is unrelated to CKS editions such as User Group etc. Any internet facing sharepoint site requiring Forms Based Authentication may use this feature.

Community Kit for SharePoint: User Group Edition (or CKS:UGE) 1.0
The CKS:UGE 1.0 is a site admin template (.STP file) designed for user group websites. The default settings and content of a SharePoint site that's been created with this template can be used with minimal modification by any Microsoft product oriented user group. Nevertheless, a user group of any product will find this template to be a compelling option with which to create a SharePoint site for its members. The CKS:UGE demo site is at http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/sharepoint/cks/uge.

Community Kit 2.0 for SharePoint
The CKS 2.0 will include several different editions that consist of custom Master Pages, web parts, and Features. Go here for current list of editions and features being considered. The CKS 2.0 project was officially announced on the SharePoint Team Blog on March 27, 2007. The pre-release announcement was posted on June 18th. Here are the CKS 2.0 editions currently being actively worked on by the CKS team.

Does this work with WSS v3? I installed it but instead of the Discuss button, it's an '*' and its tooltip said errors were encountered. Wiki with discussion is definitely a great feature. Thanks.

I had the same problem as mentioned in a comment above with another language pack than english and I solved it by changing the open source code changing the method PostCommentToList to make it work with the language you use. Cheers!

I can download the source cod, but i can not unzip it. Why ? I tried with this version : cks-29521.zip..

I have been running the latest ECTS solution build on Windows 2008 64bit for almost 6 months now with no issues. All Password policies are set via domain policy in the AD. The ECTS looks at the local systems security policy for users settings such as password expiration and complexity requirements. In my case a domain password policy change was not an available option so I just created a password policy GPO and applied it to the SharePoint servers.

Is there a setting that allows me to increase the max number of external users managed by ECTS? I have the upper limit set in ADAM to 2000, but everytime we reach 1000external users, ECTS can not manage , it doesn't add any new users. Does anyone know where is this limit set and how i can change it? Also, i am not sure where the password expiration is set. I am not able to find a policy in ADAM, and nothing in ECTS. Thanks.

Has anyone found a solution to ezillmers problem comment (of Dec 2008) ... "Installed and played some with this, but found that it overrides Content Approval Required on the Comments List (We need to have Comments moderated by an approval group). Comments are automatically and immediately approved and published. !!" I've found the same thing, and it is a serious problem for my application where moderated comments are essential. Working with WSS3. I tried setting up a new Sharepoint blog site with working moderated comments, then activated CKS:EBE - no problem, except that comments were now approved immediately. :-(

Hi, I have a question about the integration between Live Writer and the CKS:EBE? Everything is communicating fine (I can create and edit posts) however if I open an existing post in Live Writer it doesn't associate any of the categories that were previously set on it? If I don't select any categories and save the post it doens't overwrite the existing categories. However if i select a category it will overwrite what is in the post with the selected category. I've got not problem with the overwriting its just the fact that it doesn't display what categories already exist on the post? I think its to do with what has been implemented in the CKS:EBE for the metaweblog api as I use Live Writer to post to my blogengine.net blog using the metaweblog api and everything is synced without any problems? Are you aware of this or have any advice? Many thanks!
