Getting IEE going

Hi, I've just managed, after two very hard day's work to get IEE working in a practical fashion. This is on MOSS 2007 SP1.
I think it's a great product, and it's 99% there, but it would be a mistake if you believed, like I did, that you can get it working
without downloading code and doing a substantial amount of debugging.
The main problems are in the MembershipRequest class. This is supposed to handle the sending of emails and the creation of a new account.
The former sends emails only back to the owner, sometimes the wrong email, and the latter doesn't create the account properly.
If you borrow bits of code from UserNew.cs you can fix most of this.

I've also customised the code for my own purposes, so I can't just fix the code here.
I've got it running on http:/www.scientio.com under web services. You can contact me here or there if you want help.

Best wishes,

Andy

I would DEFINATELY appreciate some help with this man. Ive been working on this for a little while, even created a new discussion but no ones posted. If you search under "mschlans" you'll see my post. I would seriously REALLY appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

I read your earlier posts, see below with my comments:
1.) The user registration ALWAYS sends the admin a rejected email and NEVER sends the user a password or anything.
Correct: it's a bug which has been solved in the latest source code.

2.) When the Admin goes to approve a member from the list, the member remains in the list.
Correct, but again, get the latest source code
3.) Password recovery is not working. I get prompted for the username, then the question and answer, but then NO email is sent and the webpage displays a generic sharepoint error.
Could be correct, but therefore you've to tweak the web.config. (http://www.codeplex.com/CKS/Thread/View.aspx?ThreadId=17346)

All issues you mentioned and the solutions are available right now on codeplex/cks. Please check out the IEE discussions and the important one which is started by Paul Ballard one of the coordinators: http://www.codeplex.com/CKS/Thread/View.aspx?ThreadId=16363
Finally check out http://www.codeplex.com/CKS/SourceControl/ListDownloadableCommits.aspx especially change set 9321. Brendon Schwartz did some fantastic work in my healthy opinion. I'm currently testing this one and it looks great!

I'm not a developer, although I can but i'm pretty bad in it :-) so I started to contribute by testing it out because I also think this is a fantastic initiative. What I learned is to read frequently the discussions, contribute and take a look at the change sets.
Remember this is an open source project where people are willing to contribute in the own spare time. Things are not always always going as quick as we want, or better as the developers and coordinators want, this takes time.
If you need some help please respond or send me a message
