Does FBA need to be deployed for every subsite ?

Hi there, new to this discussion.

I have deployed FBA successfully on my main Sharepoint site ( http://mysite). Created some users. Therefore the main groups are home owners, home members and home visitors.

Then I have created another subsite and set it up NOT TO INHERIT permissions from the parent site. This has created the groups subsite owners, subsite members and subsite visitors.

When I go in my Subsite's -> Site Settings I can still see FBA User management and if I click on it I see the users. If I Edit one user, I DO NOT see the newly created groups for my subsite !

Then, I went into my Subsite's People and groups and added one generic main site user "john" to the group "Subsite Members". Now if I go into Subsite -> Settings and click FBA User management and then want to edit that particular user "john", I am getting this error message :

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

What am I doing wrong ?

Do I have to deploy again the whole CKS.FBA to http://mysite/subsite ?
