Chatterbox Webservice Problems

I have installed the standard Chatterbox webpart (not ajax) globally to our sharepoint 2007 website and it works fine (using the cab file command line install). However i have a few questions to see if it is it possible to do the following on the standard chatterbox webpart?

  • Enable permissions and/or target audience on a chatterbox instance (i need to restrict access to a specifc user group)?

    This does not seem to have any effect on the webpart. Is it possible to restrict it to a user group and hide from anonymous users?
  • Import the chatterbox to a webpage using the AddWebPartToZone or AddWebPart webservices?

    I get a soap exception when using the following webpart xml in the webservice call:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?>
        <WebPart xmlns:xsd="" xmlns:xsi="" xmlns="">
             <Height />
             <Width />
             <TitleIconImageUrl />
             <Description />
             <BackingListName />
             <UserName />
             <DetailLink />
             <HelpLink />
             <Title>ChatterBox 102</Title>
             <PartImageSmall />
             <MissingAssembly />
             <Assembly>ChatterBox, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=48e046c834625a88</Assembly>
  • Is it also possible to access the backend list content via the webservice calls?

    So that i can add and read items within the chatterbox list.

Any help or pointers with the above would be really appreciated!
