I have searched the interweb extensively for some implementation of SharePoint RSS feeds by category, and this is how I came to download and install the CKS:EBE 2.0 solution.
Your implementation of "Category specific feeds (e.g. /rss.xml?cat=coolstuff)" on blog posts is just what I've been looking for. Very nice!
Can someone take a wild guess at how difficult it would be to implement this functionality in a WCM/Publishing (Internet) site?
It seems there are a lot of moving parts that may make it difficult to port (HttpHandler, Xsl, deployment, configuration, etc.).
I'd like to be able to offer an RSS feed similar to a CQWP feed, but where I can use a query string parameter to pass a category (basically a lookup field value).
The alternative seems to be pretty ugly - a hidden CQWP for each category (filtered by a specific category field).
Thanks for any insight,
